back from NTC

Well I made it back from sunny California on Wednesday night.  It was a little a little uncertain if we were going to make it back that night.  Once we got to San Angelo all kinds of thunderstorms popped up between there and Ft hood.  It finally started to clear up and we were able to take off.  Then I get in and one of the first things I find out is that I get to do it all over again in September.  I am not thrilled about this in the least.  However due to people moving around in the brigade my shop has only 4 people out of what is supposed to be 13.  One of our guys is going to Bnoc, so he cant go.  I now have a new commander, and am looking forward to working for him.  From what I know of him he is a pretty good person and has a senseable head on his shoulders.

Done with a lovely NTC rotation

Well for the last month I have been in the wonder desert of the southwest United States.  Training at NTC.  Well the obvious one is that it was hot.  On the first day of movement I had gotten a severe heat rash on my back and was quite miseable for a few days.   Thanks to the good doc, I did get it cleared up.  I was able to write my lovely wife quite abit through ako.  That was  a pretty awesome thing.  Thank you Dina.  I heard you got a lot of phone calls.  I leaving here on the 2nd of August and should be home on the 3rd.

risen from the dead

Hello all,  It has been quite sometime since last post.  Probably a lot has gone on since then. lol  Right now getting ready to go out to NTC for a month to play in the desert.  Our getting ready to deploy to Iraq training.  We need it condisidering we have new people and lots of them.  Well i think most are in for a rude awakening as to what the army of the future is, and it isnt going to be like when i first came in.  First ten years of my career were pretty quiet and not very exciting as far as deployments go, but after first ten i am getting ready to go on my second war time deployment.  Well at least i am on the downside of 20.  Of course this assuming i dont tell the army to kiss my ass before that.   Enjoying most of my days off when i get them. Playing a lot of Everquest2 ( nerd game as Melissa calls it).  I fixed the tire and now here car is already to hit the roads again.  Well all i hope to at least update once a month or so, but i am not going to make no promises.  Happy Fourth of July to All.

Been a Long Time

Today I realize that I do appreciate how nice a family I do have.  It is wonderful not to have a lot of drama.  After talking to my Melissa and finding out that our neighbors wonderful evening.  Well just a touch on the sarcastic side.  I do feel for her somewhat, because of the guys stupidity.  However I cant feel to sorry because she is two timing her hubby.  I just find it all kinda amusing, but it does affect me because of my wonderful Melissa.  She is so kind at times and does such selfless things for people. That is one of the things I love about her so much.   I came home at lunch and went to the park to help bring the kids home she was watching.  I had fun doing that since they all ran all the way back to the house, and it almost seemed effortless to them.  I am ready for the weekend.  I am taking a pass from saturday thru next tuesday.  I am ready for a small break.  I dont take much time off, but when i do it is very important to me.  I will get Valentines day off to spend with my wonderful Melissa, and this time there will be NO Wendy's.  Tomorrow morning I have a meeting with the commander and other people about the Task force I will be going with to Iraq later this year.  OH I did re-enlist last Thursday for 3 more years.  That will put me up to about 14 then only 6 more years until 20.  LOL  I hope all have a good night/.

One Fine Monday

It has been a pretty wonderful day so far.  I am over the effects of having duty.  It currently is pouring down liquid sunshine, and is kinda chilly.  Work is a busy as ever, especially with the ARMS inspection going on right now.  I think it will turn out ok.  Getting my paperwork to Re-enlistment and hopefully doing that on Thursday.  That should put me a few years closer to Retirement.  This month I go over 11 beautiful long years in the army.  Lol  Have a wonderful day all

Friday

Another Friday and I have duty once again.  That is alright because it isnt a holiday this time.  Also been a very busy week, especially since we have been getting ready for a big inspection and getting ready to send some people to the field on sunday.  Of course it seems that the helicopters want to break.  I really think they dont like going to the field either.  I was supposed to go, but due to this inspection they thought i was much more valuable back here.  We are supposed to be getting people in to help us, but i have been hearing this since i came over to 3/4.  I guess some people believe all they hype about it, but i dont.  I have heard all this before.  Melissa has been calling me Yosimite SAM all morning because i was grumpy in the middle of the night.  I cant help it if it felt like 100 degrees in the house last night.  Oh well I did sleep in until 6 am this morning which Melissa didnt have to toss and turn for an hour.  Lol.  Have a nice day all

I'm back

I got back from New Jersey today at about 4:55pm.  It was a fairly decent trip.  People were looking at me wierd and some made the comments that i was a little crazy, because i was wearing shorts in single digit tempatures.  I dont think it is crazy at all.  People just need to quit being so wimpy about the cold and embrace it.  Dont get me wrong I hate being cold, but I do try to condition myself so I can be more tolerant of it.  Where we picked up the new blackhawk was pretty cool.  The base used to be a base for the blimps and zepplins.  The hangers were propable 6 stories high and half as wide.  There was also a memorial to the Lindenburg there.  The trip back was good but long.  The back seats fo the helicopter are far from being comfortable.  Most of all I am glad to be back to my loving wife (Melissa)  I have missed her very much.
